in this last week 3 private FB groups, that i follow daily, have moved to their own platforms. At some point as i become more comfortable with these individual platforms - i have less and less reason to visit FB. The algorithms are so out of wack, time and priority wise, and the latest “design” updates have tipped the balance in favor of “sponsored content” over friends, family, and personal interests.
this is just a short sampling of my current FB feed, sort of horrendous. Plus with the latest design updates - it is MORE DIFFICULT to tell what is sponsored, marketing, suggested for you content, AND the imagery is larger so you have to scroll longer to get to items further down (there is no alternative list view)

seems to me FB is shooting itself in the foot.
right now i have checked the current MEWE app that has surfaced to accommodate those fleeing the sinking ship, but they are taking on a very right winged, almost fascist sort of following which just isn’t my cup of tea. but someone will come along that will provide a decent platform to connect (you know with like real friends, and family) again. i am sure of it.
and could someone please just create a "news" platform. One place where the "news" is scrapped to a central location, so we don't have to read the same headline re-written 15 different ways.
