Sutton Co.

The original Sutton of Sutton Co. Was a metal smith, jeweler, and fisherman. He developed his own fishing lures and tackle for fishing in the finger lakes region. In 1911 the winner of one of the largest fishing contests in the area mentioned that he used Sutton’s Spoons to catch his prize winning fish. With word of mouth, the small business took off. By 1929, the original sutton spoon maker died and the business was up for sale. 4 local fishermen who had been using Sutton’s spoons decided to buy the business and continue the manufacturing of these prize winning spoons. Only one of the partners actually carried through, his name was Scott. THe current owners are the grandchildren of Scott. they do not advertise, they do not have a web site, they just continue to make prize winning spoons in Naples, N.Y that have a winning reputation with its local fishermen.
