we stand on the street corners, with hand lettered signs we meet in the downtown square many of us are older, we never imagined this level of deceit in plain site, in this country
we listened to the war stories of our parents and grandparents, the ones who survived we are standing for our children and grandchildren We stand on the corners, for all of us for those who are not here, for all of us
we stand on the corners in the rain, heat and wind we stand as the horns honk as cars pass by there are many more thumbs up, than those who deny
we stand against centuries of inbred racism that has created a false narrative of “us” versus “them” We stand to create education and legislation for “all the people” as one united people
we stand because “we know” even when those currently in positions of greed gotten power “don’t know” We stand for Due Process, DEI, NIH, Nat’l Lands, Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, USAID, USPS, Headstart, OSHA, and so much more
we came as strangers, we stand together we have no weapons but our voices, we are winning this war
