Time flies

from my booklet “words within 2018”

i stare out the windows and watch the trees blossom while birds and squirrels and wild bunnies pass underneath them
i notice a number of blooming dandelions that will be used for dinner greens
 i water the house plants
i spend a couple of hours at the gym loosening arthritic limbs
i read wonderful, wonderful books and perhaps order more on Amazon
i watch the sun pierce through the pines on its descent, creating long shadows
instead of tasks i have intentions
like this one - i will find one new thing of interest each day
for many days it is a photograph that expresses a new look at an everyday thing
today it is reading some of Marcus Aurelius "Meditations"
later, i close the blinds for the day
i meditate for around 1/2 hour
and sometimes
i write
from the inside out

“I. Remember how long thou hast already put off these things, and how

often a certain day and hour as it were, having been set unto thee by the gods, thou hast neglected it. It is high time for thee to understand the true nature both of the world, whereof thou art a part; and of that Lord and Governor of the world, from whom, as a channel from the spring, thou thyself didst flow: and that there is but a certain limit of time appointed unto thee, which if thou shalt not make use of to calm and allay the many distempers of thy soul, it will pass away and thou with it, and never after return.”
